Celebrating 500 issues

Trout Fisherman magazine reaches an editorial milestone

Established in 1977, Trout Fisherman magazine has been in print for over forty years. As the magazine reached a benchmark of five hundred issues, I initiated a special celebratory issue covering its history and that of flyfishing in general.

Armed with the important names associated with the magazine and notable content to include, I selectively searched the pages of the on-site issue archives for choice content.

Creating an issue to remember
I set out with a specific goal of creating three features that would appear at intervals throughout the issue and give good representation of the history of both the magazine and sport. To signpost and connect all related editorial content I created a 500th issue badge. A special anniversary cover wrapped up the issue.
