Conceptualised following a general chat with the editor, I pitched a series of four seasonal instructional features focusing on fly line set-ups with multiple flies.

Designed around art directed studio photography, there was significant preparation required. Each feature comprised of a set piece opener with season specific tackle items, and two individual shots of every fly pattern. Firstly, dry on a white background followed by an underwater shot for compositing into a flyline set-up.

The feature successfully demonstrated how each fly’s form changed between dry and wet environments. Utilising striking photography and technical diagrams they each provided 3-4 multi-fly set-ups aimed at improving anglers catch rate.
